He is Head of the Group of German Focal Treatment Experts. His specialty is uro-oncologic surgery and focal treatment of prostate and kidney cancer.

Frank Preiswerk, PhD, Was Awarded the Young Investigator Cum Laude Award of the ISMRM

Frank Preiswerk, PhD honored with the Young Investigator Cum Laude Award of the ISMRM for his pioneering work on "Hybrid MRI-Ultrasound Acquisitions, and Scannerless Real-Time Imaging”. Dr. Preiswerk is a postdoctoral fellow at the National Center for Image Guided Therapy, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School, in the Advanced Lab for MRI and Acoustics. Each year, the Young Investigator Awards recognize outstanding research by trainees and junior members of the ISMRM. The award ceremony took place at this year’s ISMRM annual meeting in Honolulu, HI, in April 2017.

Creation of the Ferenc Jolesz MD Professorship at Harvard Medical School

We are delighted to announce the creation of the Ferenc Jolesz MD professorship at Harvard Medical School. This honors Ferenc A. Jolesz (1946-2014), the B. Leonard Holman professor of Radiology at Brigham & Women’s Hospital, a visionary scientist who established the NCIGT in 2005. A pioneer in the field of image guided therapy- often called the “father of IGT’, Ferenc was born in Budapest graduated medical school at Semmelweiss in 1971 and fellowships in neurology and physiology at MGH and Harvard.
