Instructor in Radiology, Harvard Medical School

Haoyin completed his Bachelor and PhD degrees in the Department of Automation, Tsinghua University, China. Thereafter, Haoyin joined the Weill Cornell Medical College. In 2016 Haoyin joined Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and Harvard Medical School as a postdoctoral research scholar. Haoyin’s research interests include 3D computer vision and its applications in image-guided therapy. Specifically, Haoyin’s the first research area is rigid/non-rigid Simultaneous Localization And Mapping (SLAM). The developed SLAM algorithms have been integrated into surgical navigation systems to help the surgeons to precisely localize the tumor and surrounding structures to ensure complete tumor resection while avoiding the sensitive structures and compensating for tissue deformation during the surgery. Haoyin have also developed machine learning methods, such as stereo matching, optical flow and medical image segmentation.
Haoyin is an awardee of the NIH/NIBIB K99/R00 grant.
